Ipad Integration

February 6th, 2011 Advancing Technology

Today we designed an IPAD control system for a client in the downtown Charleston area. The devices used were a Yamaha Z1, Samsung 55″ 3-D 9000 Series, Cisco Cable Box, PSX-2 Ipod Server, and a Samsung BDC6900. It is truly amazing at how responsive the system works. We also did a IP based power manager that allows the user to go to the browser based website, enter a username and password, and reset any devices online that are connected to the power manager. Now he can reset devices without touching a thing!

The Dinosaur

February 6th, 2011 Advancing Technology

Well…it’s another new year, and much advancement in the wonderful world of custom automation! I have noticed a trend in which I must talk about. As new devices(receivers, Blu Ray players, Projectors and Flat screens, etc are being mass produced. Ive noticed one thing in the past year, less analog connections. I said to myself, hmmm, why is this happening? Finally after much conversation with my colleagues and business partners, I got the skinny. By the year 2013, all electronics manufacturers will have no choice but to design devices with NOTHING but digital connections. In a nutshell, everything is going more and more digital by the day. Anybody noticed the new AppleTV?  With fiber optic technologies and HDMI advancing, soon enough the change will be made entirely. Sound familiar??? Aaah the wonderful CATV companies switching from analog to digital…. Let me make a suggestion, future proof your investments. Especially if you are building a custom home this year.
